Castillo Varez Cabernet Sauvignon Valle Central Chile 1999
This wine has the normal, heavy texture that is common to wine made in Chile from the Cabernet Sauvignon vine. Not bad at all but I have tasted better wine in this style for similar money. In appearance, the wine is very dark and the taste is at first rather heavy but after the first half glass, it gets going.

This style of wine can be a bit an an acquired taste and it will not appeal to all. I'd recommend Los Chaclos or Los Caracoles as being better introductions to the wines of Chile.
