Los Chaclos Cabernet Sauvignon Valle Central Chile 2001
Los Chaclos normally stands out as best of the bunch as far as budget priced Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile's Valle Central is concerned. So far, I cannot comment on its merits agaisnt the competition but I would put this wine as being somewhere between the 1999 and 2000 vintages. It has a better body than the 2000 but lacks the rich taste of the 1999.

There is a hint of excess acid in the aftertaste but it is by no means unpleasant. Certainly a good choice at the money.

Wine rating 6/10. Value rating +1
